Display size has shrunk
I have an Inspiron 9100 with SP SP2.
My son was playing a 256 colour game when the battery went low and the latop went into suspend mode. He plugged the power in and came out of suspend mode, it went to the XP login screen and the font size was huge. When he entered the account password, it then re-entered windows but then the window/screen size immediately shrunk and now we have a small window in the middle of the monitor.
I fiddled with the display settings but couldn't fix the problem. I re-booted and the display is ok all they way to the XP login screen. After login, it shows the desktop picture, then the desktop icons, something runs in the middle of the screen runs for half a second and then the viewable area of the monitor shrinks to a small window in the middle of the monitor.
Any ideas on how to fix this???

If the above fails then I suggest you uninstall the video driver then reinstall it.

Thanks for the solution! My screen size shrunk when I started to reinstall the operating system on my laptop. The reduced size appeared as the reinstall cd opened! I could not figure what caused this problem.
Since Dell as become so "stingy" with support, all of us who use the Dell product need to share our knowlege and experience to help each other where Dell is now lacking!
I really appreciate the help!!!
