Right, you won't be able to use the generic ATI Catalyst drivers out-of-the-box. You'll have to stick with the old Dell drivers, or modifiy newer drivers in order to use them.
I have used the Omega drivers and did not have as much luck with them as I did with the DH Mod tool. The Omega drivers are worth installing though if you want the overclocking program that comes with them. You can also download Hypervision from Omega corner. You can always update to other drivers after installing the Omega drivers and getting the overclocking tool. Once the overclocking tool is installed it stays when newer drivers are used.
I have found that the best way to get drivers for the ATI mobility cards is to download the reference catalyst drivers from ATI's website. You should try to install them (the install will fail) and then use the DH Mod tool (
http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/) to modify the .inf file to support the mobility cards.
Thanks for the reply Nkrick!! Glad to know the mod community is out there for us, since a lot of us power gamers cannot get our games to work without the latest drivers. HINT, HINT DELL!!

Has anyone used the catalyst omega drivers at omegacorner.com?
My understanding is these should work just fine with mobility radeons.
