Dos programs in full screen

I am not able to run my DOS programs on a Inspiron 1100 with Windows XP home edition on a full screen. I am told this is a BIOS problem, but how do I fix it ??

I am using compatability mode windows 98. I tried with properties of the short cut. Before I bought this Dell Inspiron 1100 I tried several other laptops with windows XP and those worked file. The scren was small, but using (alt)(enter) the screen changed to full. None of the tried options gave the desired results.

There isn't a way to "fix it". It's a limitation of the on-board video. The only way to "fix it" is to get a different laptop.

Thanks for the tip. I have tried it, but, unfortunately it does not work. So, the only usefull tip is the one from dssdbs, who said, try another laptop. Anyone interested in a as god as new (one month old) Dell insprion 1100 laptop ? Or should I return it to Dell as being a machine that does not do the things I bought it for ?
