Driver updating

I installed Dell Driver Detect on Inspiron 5547 with Windows 8.1, 64 bit, i7 processor, and then allowed it to self-detect my system and any drivers to update. It found only one recommended update, a chipset driver which I downloaded and saved.

It also recommended that to insure that the download is good I should verify the checksums.

I am assuming this update should be installed and how do you verify it using the checksums?
