DST Short Test Fail Error Code 1000-0141
My dell laptop crashed all of a sudden and after restart some faint tick tick tick sound is coming out of my laptop and my laptop is working slow, i thought its a software problem and tried to format the hard drive but its not formatting and after repeated restart of my laptop, i some how managed to format the drives and reinstalled windows XP but after restart still same faint tick tick sound and my lappy is running really slow when i did a diagnostics test, it says DST Short Test: Fail Error Code:1000-0141 Msg: No drive detected. What might cause such error and please share the solution for it

The hard drive has completely failed - you need a new drive.

if the haredrive is completely failed then how am i able to re-install windows XP on it?
i am able to format the drive and reinstall windows but it runs slow and later after restart its gets corrupted saying no drive :emotion-6:

It may be the drive is intermittently able to read its tracking information - but it's clearly not working properly. One way or another you need a new drive.

ok fine... how where could i get a new hard drive for latitude 505
what will be the cost of it in rupees?
