If you did not do the extended test on the hard drive (i.e., 90-120 min, not the 10-min quick test), try that before going further.

it's probably a driver or memory issue. Try booting to safe mode. Have you added any hardware or new software? to see if it's memory then pull a stick of ram out and boot up. If it boots fine then swap the sticks out and try again. I also found this site that looks like someone had the same problem: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/archive/hardware_setup_and_system_configuration/2003-08/24879.php

Thanks, that link you posted helped a lot. Unfortunately I do not know which driver is screwing up my computer and cannot disable it. But just in case it is not a driver issue, I'll pull out the memory and try.

I did the extended test and everything is fine. I don't know how to remove ram or the sound card, so I'm going to try reformat my drive from disc.

i understand that memory is hard to pull from a notebook but it's real easy and most notebookes have 1 stick on the bottom of the computer and the other stick is under the keyboard. But the 1505 is different is has both sticks on the bottom. Here is a link w/ pictures on how to remove memory for your specific computer.

there are manuals for every computer on removing and replacing every part just like memory...Just FYI for future reference

hope this helps.

Well, you've got to take some time and do trial and error disabling drivers. What is usually said is that disable half using msconfig, restart in normal mode. If BSOD happens still, disable half of what's not checked. Keep going until you find the culprit. Don't pull out the memory until you know it's not a driver.

I tried using msconfig but I could only find two drivers which weren't the problem, then I went into control panel->system->hardware manager and I disabled all the ones that had the word driver at the end and I still get BSOD. I don't know what the problem is. Are there any other drivers that I could disable?

wait hold on I realized that I have been reading the screen wrong the whole time. The blue screen doesn't say Driver_IRQL_LESS_OR_EQUAL it says IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL if this is the first time you've seen this (blah blah blah) Check to make sure any new hardware (blah blah blah) If problem contine disable or remove (same as above) Technical Information: *** STOP: 0x0000000A (0xFFFFFFE8, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x805258c6)

Well, it's still a driver issue.
Have you tried googling the stop error? Whenever I've gotten a BSOD (even though it's been years) I search the stop error code on google and it usually will tell me the problem. So, I'm gonna google this for you.

And this is what comes up: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314063
