E5500 keyboard problems

Hi there,

I have just replaced the I/O power board on one of the companies E5500 laptops. That went fine but now the ZXCYM & Return button are no longer working. I've tried two different keyboards as replacements and checked that all cables are seated properly but still have the same problem.

Dead mobo or could it be something else?

Hi,

Welcome to the Community. Try running a diagnostics on your keyboard. Press the F12 key at the Dell Logo, select diagnostics, Select custom Test, and run a keyboard test. If it fails on the same keys then its a motherboard failure.
