EDO memory detected error
When I powered on my CPiR, I got the message "EDO memory detected in socket 1 near the audio jacks. Press F1 to shutdown" I've never opened the memory nor ever had a reason to swap out the memory. After this message came on, I tried several times to power up, only to get this message again. I swapped a new memory stick from another CPi and got the same message. (the other laptop doesn't have this problem) I need the information on my hard drive, but I can't get past this point. Any ideas?
Thanks.

You need to be carefule about which CPi model s you are moving memory from/to. Some of the older CPi models (CPi D for example) do use EDO memory.
Did the memory your CPi R reported as EDO work in the other system? What exact model was the other system (another CPi R)? What happens in your CPi R if you swap the memory in the two banks? Does the error follow the DIMM? If so, it is possible that your DIMM has gone bad...
