I figured out how to fix my problem myself and I hope I did it the right way. First I took my laptop to work and installed the network printer. That did no good. I kept seeing that exclamation point over my laptop in the devices and printers window. I discovered that each time the trouble shooter tried to install the drivers another printer was added to my device manager window. So at that point, I have three hp wireless home printers and three hp laser jet printers in my device manager all with an exclamation point over them in addition to the exclamation point over the laptop in the devices and printers window. I right clicked on the laser jet and had it removed. I uninstalled the wireless home printer software. I went into the device manager and right click then clicked on the uninstall. Each time I did that a printer went away along with an exclamation point. When I was done, I went to my devices and printers window and there was no exclamation point. I restarted the laptop and checked the devices and printers window and the device manager again. All was good. I disabled my McAfee stuff and put the disk in for hp wireless C310 series printer. It installed, the software works, I can print, I have no exclamation point over my laptop in my devices and printers window and no exclamation point in the device manager window. Yippee. I think I will wait a few days to update the BIOS. This is too much stress for a Grandma! :)
