error code #M1004

Question

Hi,  I am getting a following message when i turned on Inspiron 4150 laptop. Please call Customer service with error code #M1004. Press F1 to continue or Press F2 to go to setup utility. Pressing F1 takes me to my OS but the system speed reduced a lot with fan sound increasing. I checked the CPU performance and it shows 100%.   Please, can any of you help me out?????????????

Just flash your BIOS to the most recent revision. If that doesnt fix it, the motherboard would need to be replaced.

I'm also having the same problem with my Inspiron 8200.  If anyone here would please tell me how to fix it I'd appreciate it.  Also did the BIOS update actually help?
