error when start up reads: st string.dll not found

when i start up or reboot my laptop shows an error of st string.dll not found then it begins to search for reasons and tells me to reinstall the dll from my disc recieved at purchase time.  well i am so computer lame it is not funny i cant find anything about dlls on any of my disc so where do i look for this dll to reinstall?
