most modern processors have built in L2 cache, so there is a good chance it's not reported. it's definitly there tho. A while back some motherboards would have L2 cahce built in but now its on the cpu and if a motherboard has it it's usually refered to L3 cache. I wouldnt' worry, its there, and its built in your processor. This program is probably reporting on cache on the motherboard, and there is probably none there.
but i have a very slow booting, Is it because of the l2 cache. my computer takes too much time to load. Can anyone tell me what is wrong.[i defragment my drives and check for spywares and viruses].
well, if ur l2 cache is really damaged or not functioning it would effect all aspects of your system performance, not just the boot. Boot time is generally a factor on your hard drive speed, faster hard drive = faster load. really the cpu isnt much of a factor in this stage. but it is possible that ur chip is defective, however I wouldnt bet on it.
Well it's not just the boot for example when i right click "my computer' icon it takes about six seconds to load. or even after booting opening interent explorer takes about 7 seconds to load.
In case my cache is damaged where can i find a new one and how much does it costs?

well like I said the l2 cache is built on the CPU so you would have to replace that CPU. it just seems weird that only one part of the CPU would be damaged like that you know? I'd expect if the CPU was damaged, nothing would work, not just one piece like that. anyway, that's what you would need to replace but it's best to keep posting this cuz this problem is really weird to me. Maybe someone else can make more sense of it. Tim
