I used to have an Inspiron 8500 but Dell replaced it after they sent a tech to make an on-site repair and the tech lost screws, broke the keyboard, and other issues.

Anyways, they replaced it with a 9400 which has an Express Card instead of a PCMCIA slot. I use the Creative Audigy2 PCMCIA card and want to know if there is an adaptor available so I can use it in my new I9400?

If not, someone should invent it.

Thanks

Yes, there is an EXPENSIVE adapter in LIMITED supply, you can google for it.  People with PCMCIA wireless cards are screaming for it.

Edit - it appears to be for 3G wireless cards ONLY.  http://www.elandigitalsystems.com/usb/u132.php

unfortunately no adapter exists so you may have to go for the soundblaster usb soundcard.

Hi Fred,

There is a USB adaptor that you can purchase for the PCMCIA Card.. It would be an external adaptor.. And I don't think it is gonna be expensive... Try Belkin PCMCIA USB adaptor..

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the info.  I went to Belkin's site and could not find a device that would allow me to connect my PCMCIA device to a USB connection.

Do you have a link for that product?

Thanks

The Creative X-fi ExpressCard for notebooks is what I'm looking at. I came here to see if I could verify that it's compatable with the slot in my 9400. I would assume it is but you know how that goes.
