f966g
Hey there!
So I have had my studio 1749 for 4 years now. I am for some reason just getting around to this, but there is an extra PCI express slot that is currently being filled by the generic f966g black blank card. I was just wondering if anyone knows the actual size of the slot and what the slot can actually be used for?

Hi MusicMan,
That's a CardBus port for using CardBus peripherals. You may be more familiar with it's predecessor, the PCMCIA slot. A wide variety of devices can be purchased for that expansion slot. DialUp Data Fax Modem, Wireless adapters ect. More commonly now you can find 4GLTE Wireless providers that still offer CardBus expansion modules and based on your ID you might be interested in MIDI interface expansion cards.
