Failed to create Direct3D Device???

Question

I'm not sure that I am even posting in the spot I should be posting in.

Anyhow here is my problem.

I have ROLLER COASTER TYCOON 1 and 2 on my computer they work fine, I just put 3 in and I get this message.

Failed to creat Direct3D Device.

This error had also been send to Debug.log

Then it tells me I can with click OK: or CANCEL:

I click ok and then I get this:
RCT.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I have no clue what is going on with this but I have both of the other games on here and am having no problems.

Please give me step for step instructions on how this can be fixed if it can even be fixed.

Hmm..... I'm computer stupid in some ways I have no clue what DirectX is????   Please give me any information on this.

Yes it is!

Suggest you do this and report back with what you find.
Go to start> run and type in "dxdiag" (without the quotes) >ok.
Look under display and see if all the DirectX features are enabled.

Everything is as it should be.   Should I have posted my post in another section of the forums?
