Fan

Does the fan on the Inspiron 6000 spins when the computer is doing anything half-way intensive? I really annoys me when my Latitude does that.  My latitude is 3 years old so I was wondering if the newer processors don't get as hot.

I see you are using FanGui. Is this why your fan hardly goes on or no? I would be affraid to blow my computer up. Your i6000 is just how I would like mine except I can't afford that much ram = )

i got 256 with mine and bought the 2 gig on-line. you can get 1 gig for under 100.00 bucks. I use fangui but if I turrn it off the fans are the same. the system runs cool and you can under volt without losing any performence. it's a awesome system for the buck, try to get a coupon  when you buy, I got 750.00 off on mine.

I'm excite.

One more thing. Are there any burned out pixels/spots or anything of the sort on your display? My girlfriend bought an inspiron a few years back and hers has some spots. She called Dell and was told Dell finds it acceptable to have up to 7 bad ones.

yea, i learned that about ram a while back. i bought some extra ram from dell. it came straight from micron with a huge dell markup.  when i bought my first computer in 95 it was difficult to find the right kind of ram. i never new if what i was buying online was correct. now the websites are very user friendly and you just have to type in the model of your computer.
