Flash Bios without battery

Question

I know this may sound like an old subject brought up, but I have an Inspiron B130 that has a new battery but when I unplug the laptop it does not recognize I have a battery and shuts down and will not start up if not plugged in. I thought if I flash the Bios it might restore. I know it says that you cannot flash the Bios with AC & DC and the reason being that if you would loose power during the flash you are stuck and will most likely have to buy a new board. I think I will probably have to buy a new board anyway if a Bios flash does not do the trick; does anyone know how I can flash my Bios without having a battery or maybe you have other suggestions for the battery problem. I have not done one on a newer model; on the older models, you would add an extension parameter on the end of the BIOS Flash Executable<    /forceit   >with a skipped space between. Of course that was using a Floppy Diskette for the flash program
