Function Key Problems

I recently got an Inspiron 6400 (E1505 for those of you in the US) and my Function (fn) key seems to only be working for certain applications. For instance, I can still toggle my WiFi on and off using the fn+F2 keys and toggle the screen brightness (fn+Up/Down), but I can no longer bring up my battery meter (fn+F3) or get the computer to hibernate (fn+F1). It worked fine when I took it out of the box, but then suddenly stopped. All I did was remove a few programs, and those were the Trial Antivirus software and the productivity suite (MS Office Trial). I made it a point not to erase anything I wasn't sure of.

Maybe it's as simple as I am missing a driver or something, but I find it odd that it was working, then just stopped. Any input?

Check for an FLock key on the top row--right. It toggles between lock/unlock Function keys.

I don't see an F-lock key. If it was locked, wouldn't that prevent all of the function keys from working, not just some of them?

I have the same problem. Did you had luck resolving this?

All,

Did you remove the Dell Quickset Utility?
