Graphics Driver and Minecraft
I have an Ispiron 1545 which was on Vista but I have just installed Windows 8. Pretty well everything works fine but my grandson purchased Minecraft to run on the 1545 but when it starts it immediate crashes saying the graphics drivers are incompatible. I have tried all sorts of driver update sites including Dell but simply go round in circles. Help welcomed. Neil, G3RIR

Hi Neil,
Welcome to the community.
I would request you to kindly check the game requirements and ensure if it is compatible with Windows 8 or not.
And please let us know which video card you have on the system so we can check for the appropriate driver for the same.

Sandeep, A demo version of the game works on another laptop I have access to which has Windows 8 (not a Dell).
As the Dell Laptop is Inspiron 1545 I assume it has integral graphics rather than a separate card. How can I check what graphics it has?

Minecraft has RADEON HD5450 listed as Minimum System Requirement.
INTEL Graphics is not sufficient.
OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
OpenGL: 2.0
Processor: 2.5 Ghz
RAM: 2 GB(XP), 3 GB(Vista/7)
Hard Drive: 256 MB Free
Video: 128MB RAM Not Shared INTEL HD Ram.
Minimum required -
GeForce 8600 GS
Radeon HD 5450
DX9 WITH 128 MEGS dedicated GPU Ram.
