Having bad experiences.

I'm having bad experiences with my fairly new Inspiron E1505. Recently, I opened up the screen of my laptop and to figure out my monitor won't turn on. I push the power button on the computer instead of holding it down to shut it off, it doesn't shut off, so I shut it off manually. Also, I tried to use the PC-Restore, that ALSO didn't work. It must have gotten deleted somehow and I haven't messed with any of my partitions somehow. I do also remember adding this Symantec PC-Restore when I customized my computer. My monitor has been doing this a lot lately, and I don't know what to do about it. And about trying to restore my computer like it was new, how can I do this if I never did get the backup drive onto my hard drive? Any advice somebody, I really need some help.

Do you have an ATI x1300 or 1400 installed in the system? If you do, open the Catalyst Control Center and try disabling powerplay.

Sure don't. I have the nVidia GeForce 7300 card installed.

See if this causes the same problem, boot up the computer while plugged in. Unplug the power cable and then plug it back in. Repeat 5 or 6 times and see what the screen does.
