Having Problems with wireless keyboard but NOT wireless mouse

I am having problems with my wireless keyboard. I am a fast typist and it seems as though it can't keep up with me half the time. Sometimes when I type a letter it will type several of the same letter when I've only pressed it one time. I just got this brand new computer and hooked it up 2 days ago. I don't have problems with my mouse at all. Sometimes I will have to press a letter several times before it will type once as well. This is the first time I've ever had a wireless keyboard. What do you think is happening. Ihave McAfee for security system and it says it's installed. HELP!! Anyone else have this problem. Funny thing is I've had NO problems typing this paragraph quickly. Sometimes I have problems sometimes I don't. I've already changed batteries, etc. Anyone got any advice?

Well what wireless keyboard do you have? More info would be helpful.

Hi Ben:

What I have is a Dell wireless keyboard and mouse that is used only with Dimension Dell Computers only. When I look at my packing slip I don't see anything except for "Desktop Solutions Dell Wireless Keyboard and Mouse. I'm not sure what other info but I can tell you that I've not had problems since I did this: I did have my mouse on top of the desk in front of the monitor and I had the keyboard down on the keyboard holder that slides from underneath the desk. Since I've put them next to each other I've had not a lick of problems. Could that have been the problem? I did not read anything about them having to sit next to each other work but I haven't read through EVERYTHING yet. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Under weather last few days. Thanks again.
