Hi Paul,

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Confirm if 'Hard Drive' is detected in system BIOS:
- Power off the laptop
- Power it back on and repeatedly tap < F2 > on Dell logo (If Windows logo appears, shut down the laptop and repeat steps)
- On 'Main' page, capture the information besides 'Fixed HDD'

- If it says 'none', 'Hard Drive' is not getting detected in system BIOS; please restore BIOS defaults
- To restore BIOS defaults, tap < F9 >
- Tap < F10 > to save settings and exit
- Restart the laptop and repeat steps to access BIOS and check the status of 'Fixed HDD' again;
- If 'Hard Drive' is now detected, please run 'Hardware Diagnostics' on the laptop
- If no 'Hard Drive' is detected, it indicates a hardware issue and may need part replacement

2. Drain out the residual power:
- Power off your computer
- Please remove the AC adapter and battery of your computer
- Press and hold the power button of your computer for 10-15 seconds to drain out the residual power
- Release the power button
- Insert the battery in and connect the AC adapter
- Try powering on the computer and re-check

3. If issue still not fixed, run 'Diagnostics':
- Please restart the system
- As soon as you see the blue Dell logo, repeatedly tap ‘F12’ key

Note: If you wait too long and the Microsoft Windows appears, then continue to wait until you see the Windows desktop. Now shutdown your computer and try again
- After you tap ‘F12’ key, a new window would appear. Use the 'Down' arrow key to highlight the option “Diagnostics” and hit Enter to initiate diagnostics
- Please capture the error code and report.

I am adding you as a friend; please accept my request and reply through a private message with the system 'Service Tag' and 'Account Holder's' name. Based on your system's warranty and region, I will provide you with the best support options available. Do reply if you have any further questions. I would be glad to assist.
