When this happens, there's a pretty good chance the drive has failed.  If you remove the hard drive and go into BIOS setup, check to see if the password is still set -- if it is not, the drive is toast and will need to be replaced.

It seams that the hdd was the culprit. After removing the hdd there is no more password set in the bios.

10x for the help.

Another problem i just remembered is that my e-sata port (the one on the right) is broken. The connector from the port that enters inside the usb seams to move up and down. The question is can the port be replaced w/o having to replace the motherboard?

Hi LittleOneill,

On most of the laptops to fix this issue you will have to replace the system board. However, please reply us with the system model to confirm it.
