ack! rick, i noticed this last night when i was going to webcam with my friend on msn and it said that my webcam needed to be checked and that maybe some programs should be re - installed
so i re-installed msn
then checked dell webcam central and it said my webcam had been unplugged
i then clicked "check online for solution" and it said i should install 28 windows updates and restart
i did that and it didn't do anything!
i'm thinking about system restore but i don't know if it's worth the time because maybe it's just my webcam
i read somewhere that integrated webcams can sometimes not be attached properly
also i think you shld know that i uninstalled McAfee when my subscription expired and just downloaded free avast! Antivirus which my dad uses on his desktop
and then i installed Windows Office 2003 but not a genuine version of it
and then APPCRASHes started appearing all over the place
Start, accessories, system tools. Right click on the command prompt, left click run as administrator. Type
chkdsk /r (space between the k and /)
Answer with a Y. Then restart your computer.
The webcam drivers can be downloaded from Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag number. Under input devices you should see the software for the webcam. Download the drivers using your browser, do not use the download manager.

jisoojet,
Did this just start to happen?
Did you try system restore back to when it worked properly?
Did you add anything lately or re-install the operating system? Any drivers?

jisoojet,
Did the updates install? Vista or XP?

Did you use the McAfee Removal tool?
Un-install Office. Restart your computer. Download Open Office it's like Microsoft Office but FREE.

jisoojet,
Make copies of files and folders that you cannot afford to lose. After you have the files and folders you need, then...
Restoring Your Computer´s Software to the Factory Settings
After you have it back, then you'll need to un-install McAfee and Install Avast, again. You'll also need to put all your programs back again.
