Please remove AC adapter and all the external peripherals (Speakers, printers, scanners or any other USB device) connected to your computer. If the system is attached to a docking station, undock it. Close the lid, and then remove the battery. Please slide release latch to unlock the battery. Press 'Power On' button for about 20 seconds to drain the residual power. Replace battery, adapter and then power on system. Hopefully computer start normally.

Does power indicator light on AC adapter lite up? Is the green or blue light on adapter solid or blinking?

Power light on AC adapter is blue solid.

I'm assuming both are Dell genuine adapters....
