Help with Dell CSX

Is there a way to restore my Dell CSX to its factory settings? It wont get past the OS loading screen when i start it up. It will get a blue screen, turn off, and try to restart again, and it will do this until i manually turn it off. i have no idea what to do....

There is a Makeboot file on the W2000 CD to make 4 boot diskettes. Use those to start and at the end, you will be prompted for the W2000 CD to finish. See if you can repair the W2000 installation.

You could reinstall W2000 but you would need the CD for that also. Do you still have the W2000 COA sticker with Product key on the machine? If you do, you can borrow a w2000 Dell Recovery CD for W2000 from another person to do one or the other. If you do not have the Sticker/Productkey, you need to buy another OS Set, and I highly recommend if you do  that you buy a set of some type of W-XP.

I believe that is generic garbage and a waste of money. Do you have the W2000 COA/PK sticker or not?

apparently it came with windows 98 and the person who i bought it from had installed w2k on it. So it has the windows 98 SE sticker on the bottom....

You would not be able to install W2000 on it without the Product key and CD or even do a major patch, and w98SE is a very dated system although it would work. I still believe your best bet is installing W-XP from an OEM set of W-XP HOME which run around 80-90 dollars on Ebay9(sometimes less) and legal. What you are trying to do with W2000 is illegal even if it would work, since you do not have the sticker for it and which is your license to use the software.

What your seller did was illegal and you are part of his piracy when you use it. I will send you a private message, but I am leaving to attend church now.
