Help with resolution problem, and quick upgrading question

Question

I recently bought a dell inspiron 8200. I have been recently annoyed with the display, I would like the size to be bigger(start menu, icons and so forth), so I try to lower the resolution, but instead of display being larger, It just takes up less of the lcd screen, I have tried fooling around with the nvidia display properties(mx 440 go vido card). I have also tried the same with the windows display properties but have no luck, The only thing that came close was changing the dpi but that didn't help either. All help is appreciated, Thank you, btw the laptop specs are, 1.8 p4 mobile, 512mb ddr, 30gb hdd, nvidia mx440go (dell inspiron 8200) also, I would like to upgrade my video card, If there is some specific item that my laptop needs in order to do so what would it be?

The two top cards are the ATI 9000 and nVidia QuadroGo (the latter are very difficult to find). Both are C-chassis, proprietary parts. Dell Spare Parts 1-800-449-3355 ext 7269937

How would I find out what chassis I have? also to the resolution problem, when xp loads, the screen is like 4 by 4 inch, how ever, when ever I exited the bios, the screen took up the whole monitor

You have a C-chassis, and those are your upgrade options. Have you reloaded the chipset and video drivers?
