Horizontal lines in IE while scrolling

Hi - I'm having a minor problem with my 1300.  When I'm in IE and using the touchpad to scroll I get dull gray horizontal lines across my screen.  This happens when I'm scrolling towards the top of the page slowly.  If I use the page up/down buttons or scroll quickly the lines don't show up (or go away if they are allready there).  I can sometimes make this happen if I use the up arrow key but not very often.  The lines mostly appear in buttons or bars as they scroll by,  it is almost as if the bottom of the toolbar area is leaving these lines behind.  I'm not sure if this problem is only in IE, but it's the only place I have noticed it so far.

MORE INFO:

INSPIRON 1300,   512 RAM,  Integrated Intel 915/910,  1370 wireless,  15.4 WXGA, Synaptics TPad
Re-installed OS and Dell drivers and software.  Totally updated.

There were two video related problems I noticed during and after the re-install.  Clear Type had looked really nice when I first turned it on (before the re-install).  Afterwords the fonts really seemed to bleed, bold and larger fonts had a strange red aura.  Using the Clear Type tuner thingy from MS didn't help.  Deleting the 3 default monitors seemed to really help with the Clear Type issue but did not resolve the "dull gray lines" issue.

I have tried most, maybe all, of the window settings that might be involved:  turned off all effects, chose best performance from the performance menu and so on.  I still have lines in IE.  It's not a big problem but I would like to resolve it.

I believe I'n in the right resolution for this screen, 1280X800.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated - Thanks

I'll respond to myself, just in case anyone is interested.  Switching the DPI setting to 96 solved the lines in IE problem.  Fortunately I don't really mind the small icons but big ones would be better.  If you stick with 120 then PAGE UP-PAGE DOWN when the lines get obtrusive.

Yes I also have this problem, I have a inspiron 9400 with the Nvidia 7800 256mb videocard and the truelife 1920 17inch screen. When I'm scrolling in Explorer slowly I also get those fine horizontal lines,it's not on all websites but mostly on sites with much frames and pictures. when you back scrolling up they dissapeared but mostly shows somewhere else.It happens mostly when you use the mousepad, if you use a mouse it seems to be better because the scroll steps are bigger then scrolling with the mousepad.
It's really strange because it's only in IE, other applications are doesn't have this problem. My settings of the dpi is offcourse 120% because 96 you said is too small for me ;) Hopefully it's better when we can download the new explorer 7.
