How do I disable the admin password?

Hello,

My sister-in-law got a second-hand Dell Inspiron 8000 that has the admin password enabled. We have the password and the system works great but she hates having to type in the password every time she starts the laptop.

I went into the bios and attempted to remove the admin password but everytime I type in the admin password it won't clear it. I've removed these in the past and typically you type in the current password and then change it to have no password and that removes the login password.

Am I missing something here?

Any help will be appreciated!

Scott

Actually the password is the system password. I type in the password and it keeps coming back as "invalid". But it's the same password that I use to unlock the system on startup.

I can't figure it out.

Thanks,

Scott

I believe you have to enter the password on the password page and then press enter 3 times to clear it out completely. Read the instructions in the right column. BTW, what you are referring to as the login Password is the Primary Password, not the Admin Password
