How to disable TouchScreen capability on E6520?

Thanks for providing us this information. Please check the steps below which would be useful for you:
From the Windows® XP default Start menu, click Control Panel.
With Control Panel in Category Mode, click Performance and Maintenance.
In the Performance and Maintenance window, click System.
In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab.
On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
In Device Manager, click the plus sign (+) in front of Human Interface Devices.
View Picture
Right-click Touchscreen Driver, and then click Disable.
Click Yes.
To enable Finger Touch, follow the above steps and click Enable.
Please perform these steps and let us know the results of the same so we can advise you further.

When I am in the device manager there are several different controllers under Human Interface Drivers. For example, there are four devices called "HID-compliant device", one for the "usb mouse" and then one for "USB Human Interface Device".

Please provide us with the screenshot of the device manager so we can provide you with the details.
Also, to confirm you wish to disable the touchscreen and not the touchpad of the system.
Please provide us this information so that we can be in a better position to understand and resolve this issue.
