How to make the letters and Icons Bigger?/

Hi I just got the inspiron 710 with 12' screen. I would like to know how to make the letters and the Icons bigger?   Thanks for any help Teresa

Try changing the font DPI setting from 96 to 120:

(Right click on desktop and select Properties->Settings->Advanced)

Also, consider using ClearType fonts:

(Right click on desktop and select Properties->Appearance->Effects and choose ClearType instead of Standard for edge smoothing)

I have my 700m set up this way.
