hyper threading ?

can somone explain hyper threading to me, aparently its on new laptops and makes them better somehow. secondly i seem to be getting minor port scans on my firewall alot ? i just realised  something called 'dzaqpykj.exe' in system 32, im sure it wasnt there before, anyway i did a google on it with no luck, could this be reasons for all my portscans or are they nothing to worry about ? thanks

Summary: a more efficient means of handling multiple cpu requests at a time.

Sure sounds like malware to me. Rename it to .old and see what happens. If it resists boot in safe mode and delete it. It may be loading in the Registry. Drill on down to CurrentVersion\Run and see if it's loading. Safe Mode will also be needed to delete it there.

jonosd: Not sure about your file - don't know what it is. The port scans on your firewall are normal part of life these days. Just mopes looking for open ports to cause trouble with. That's why we have firewalls, so don't worry about them if your firewall is up and in good condition. Hyper threading was explained already by the previous reply, and expalined pretty well at that.

Just a quick link to see wherever whoever is hiting you from. Just enter the ip and it will tell you the geographical info on the ip. http://www.antionline.com/tools-and-toys/ip-locate/index.php
