Icons Change?

Hey, Folks! Anybody know why those 'Special Icons' disappear that are shown for websites added to the Favorites folder? You know, like the 'logo icon' for FedEx, when that site was added to my Favorites, for a while it showed the 'FedEx logo icon' now it's just plain on IE icon! And it's true for every site!! What's up? Why do they change? Any way to prevent it? I like those icons, not a row of IE symbols!!! Appreciate the help!

They are stored in the internet Temporary folder. If you clear it or it reaches its maximum size, IE will start clearing out the directory. There is a free program called FavOrg from PCMag that will install them into a different directory so that you won't loose them. I use it.

You could try this little utility:
http://www.codeproject.com/tools/faviconizer.asp
which will reload all the icons and store them outside the temp folder so they don't get lost again.
