Common Danger,

Try installing Dell Quickset.

If you recently installed your operating system, did you install the drivers in the correct order? How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

I am running Win 7 64 Prof. with Control Point, you running Win 7 64 Home without
control point software.

I think Quick set tries to set others things than just the KB back lite and
things like that, it says that Quick set is not compatible with my laptop
either.

I did look for it on the CDs though and then i did a search for it and found a
link in you post to the software in a post to it to your make and model of
laptop and read about the app.

I have Five Communications Cards all controlled with the control point software.
I would give it a try if dell would support the error they don’t support experimentations
though.

my piture would be here they wont fix this error. Gee I wounder why

Common Danger,

No, you are correct. Your system used Dell Control Point. I never got to try Dell Control Point, since this ios on business machines.

Sorry I don't have the answer to make the backlit keyboard stay on longer.

Dell Control Point can be found in the Drivers and Downloads page of support.dell.com, you can download and install the latest version there.

Once you activate the DCP, then you can find the menu for the keyboard backlight.  It should look like this:

The control options available can be selected from the radio buttons.
