Inspiron 1545: (Physically) broken screen!

Hi!

First, sorry for my English but I haven't found any French canadian forum out there!

I bought an Inspiron 1545 in September 2009 and never had any problem with it before today so thanks Dell for that.

I took pictures that I put at the end of my message to show you the problem I have with my screen. I  haven't done anything special with it - just used it as usual. Didn't walked on it or anything. I was probably a little too abrupt with it today without really noticing it.

The computer itself is still working very well. It's just a physical/mechanical problem.

I can't keep it that way. I don't know where to go to repair it. I can't do it myself either, I'm really bad at this and would probably break it even more.

Could someone give me an advice on what to do with this?

Thank you.

Hello Karmagurlz,

Thank you for the detailed description about the issue. It certainly needs a part replacement. Does the computer have an active warranty? You can check the warranty status here. In case of expired warranty scenario, we would not be able to extend warranty entitled services. If the warranty on the computer has expired, you may contact our Expired Warranty Services (this is for US based customers).

In case the computer has an active warranty, I would also request you to private message me the system service tag so that I can assist you further with the issue. To private message, click on my user name and click start conversation.

Please write back, I'd be glad to assist you further.
