Inspiron 2650 (Memory Issues)

Hi!  I have a Dell Inspiron 2650 that I bought in the states a few years back.  It came with128MB of memory and I am in desperate need of an up grade.  I have found a corsair 512MB to replace the the 128MB.  However, the salesman said that the system does not support a single memory that is so big.

Question1:  What can I do to increase the memory of this old machine?

Question2: Is there some unremovable RAM that does not allow the 512MB to function properly?

Cheers

You can put a 256mb chip in the open slot. Thats the highest you can go.

$36.96 at crucial.com
Make sure you buy the right one for your system.
