Inspiron 5160Win XP activation

Question

hi again,   why my XP dont ask me to do XP activation after i refused it when i start it for 1e time(he asked, yes)? (i ve done all update on www.microsoft.com)   thx

If you refuse, you have to manually start the activation. It is in accesories. In a few days, it will pop up and ask again.

thx for answel hmmm i use it by 3 days and he never ask me u said in accessoiries but i dont find it, can you tell me more plz? maybe i can active it manuelly

It is at the top of System Tools in the Accessories tab.

It says 'Activate Windows'. Your copy may have already been activated. If not, it will run for thirty(30) days and stop working. If it was on the computer and you reinstalled, you may not need to activate. Anyhow, you will find out in 30 days. :smileywink:

pplu: Dell recovery CD for the operating system has a specific mechanism for self activation which works depending on your system configuration (for instance, it doesn't work if you try to install the OS on a computer not made by Dell). So, what you didn't do was the registration! And yes, your system will work without time limit and without the registration. Without activation, your system will work only 30 days (I suppose).
