Inspiron 9100 Keyboard/Pointer/Touchpad Problems
I've had my Inspiron 9100 since April, and aside from the loud fans and non-functioning headphone jack (common for the 9100 unfortunately) I haven't had much to complain about.
2 days ago the "w" key began periodically typing "wr" or "wrr". Holding it down produces "wrrrrrrrrr....". Then, today, my "r" key ceased working altogether, although "rrrrrrrrrrrr...." strings would spontaneously type. I also noticed the touchpad and pointer-stick and their accompanying buttons stopped working when the "r" key was going nuts. Now, multiple keys are affected like the "w" key, including "3" "c" "o" "d" "u" and "q". A string of "r"s follows these keystrokes until another key is pressed.
After much wrestling with my keyboard, I managed to install and run the Dell diagnostic program, which confirmed the obvious: the "r" key is "stuck" though not depressed and multiple keys are sending accompanying "r" signals.
Any thoughts for fixes or am I going to be replacing a lot of hardware here?

Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum.
You will need a new keyboard (or at least need to get yours repositioned on your system).
