Inspiron E1505 - problem: screen flickers

Hi,
I have a problem with my Inspiron E1505. My screen flickers from time to time. It occurs mainly when I try to display pictures on website, but it occurs with no pictures too. It comes and goes in a blink, just a second. Happens every 3-4 minutes. I was talking to a dell technician and he suggested me to check this in a BIOS but there is no problem in a bios (setup). I think it is video card or LCD problem.

I tried to use other nvidia drivers, reloaded windows, java, flash player etc. No answer.

Does anyone have the same problem?

I recognized that when I go here www.livescore.com then 2 black parts of the screen flicker. This is not the same flickering as I described upper but I have IBM laptop too and there is no problem on IBM. Can other Inspiron user with my configuration check this website (it is safe, don't worry)?

This is my configuration:

Inspiron E1505
Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7200 (4MB/2.00GHz/667MHz)
15.4 Inch UltraSharp TrueLife Wide-screen WSXGA+
1GB, DDR2, 533MHz 2 Dimm
256MB NVIDIA GeForce GO 7300
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
Bios A09

Thank you
Regards
Maciej

I too have a E1505 and I've noticed a split second screen flash from time to time. I've had this laptop for 2 days.

It's almost unnoticeable - it literally happens in the blink of an eye.

I have an external monitor connected - I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

Sounds like our problems are identical - must be an issue with the video card when there is a second screen in use. Let me know if you figure anything out would ya?

I have the exact same problem on my E1505. It only occurs when there is an external monitor connected. -B

How were you able to install the drivers? The installer told me that it couldn't be installed on my system even though I have the same video card you do. What file did you download?

ATI released some new drivers for the x1400.  Dell hasn't posted them to their website yet but I was able to find them online.  I only did it yesterday -- but so far I think it has fixed the problem.

Keeping my fingers crossed...
