integrated keyboard suddenly stopped responding
Hi, This is the first time I've used this Forum, and would like some help. I emailed Dell's support service 2 days ago, no reply yet. I phoned, but the call centre is in US and asleep - I am in UK and awake - so would very much like some help. Two days ago my integrated keyboard just stopped responding to any key strokes. I fortunately have an external keyboard to type this. Any ideas on reviving it would be very welcome!

Depending on your system (posting the model # of the system in question helps us a lot), the cable connecting the keyboard to the motherboard may have come loose. Look up the service manual for your system through the reference tab above, and follow the instructions for keyboard replacement, using the same keyboard, and see if that doesn't help.

The solution that worked for me was - shut down, disconnect from power source AND take out battery. Leave for one minute then put battery back and reconnect. Bingo!
