Yes, IE8 has some problems.

Open the Programs and Features control panel (start >> settings >> control panel)

Click on View Installed Updates (top left of window)
Locate Internet Explorer 8 in the Windows updates category.

Select it and click Uninstall at the top of the window.

Good Luck

Your first clue to applications potentially being buggy?

"BETA".

Signal2Noise is right it is in beta stage. Only problem I have had with it is when I try to copy and paste addresses in the address bar it closes out with errors. Otherwise It has been trouble free.

I have used this Beta since it came out. Work extreamly well for me on my Vista m1330. However I did download it onto my Vaio Slimpro (2001) XP laptop and it seemed a bit buggy....I guess everthing runs on expected platform which is Vista. Bye the way I have alway had a great exprence with Vista. I belive all the haters out there are trying to run the OPsys on lower class computers hence their problem. Don't confuse the issues.

Good Luck
