Invalid AC Adaptor reported

I had this error when running diagnostic tool (F12 at startup), it look like according to the forums it's an AC problem or a motherboard problem. The PC (Inspiron 9400) is running fine, the battery is charging fine. The AC green light is on. Now I have a 6400 adaptor delivering 3.4A while the 9400 adaptor needs 4.42A, can I test it without harming the system and run again the F12 check ?

You can try it; if you receive the error than an underpowered adapter is sensed, the original adapter is the faulty part.

If this adapter generates the "AC adapter unknown" message, it's a mainboard problem, not the adapter.

I tested it. And it passed the F12 tests :

AC Adaptor test
Power 65W
Test results : Pass

So, what I have to conclude : While the adaptor has its green light on, it isn't working properly, I must change my adaptor ?

My laptop is still on warranty (12 days remaining :p), then will Dell change my adaptor for free ?

Notice, when i plug the 65W i have a message "the battery will charge slowly".

AC power adaptor cannot be determined  - what does this mean?
