Is my Computer Bad?

Question

I have an Inspiron 6400 and I have recently noticed (after joining the forum) haha...that my light that is in a shape of a battery on the actual laptop, not screen does not turn on...or is it?  And if so, when does it?  (the battery pic located on the right with the power light, a cylinder looking device, and then the Battery)

I'm sorry..It does turn on when I plug my charger into my laptop. Sorry for sounding so silly!:smileyvery-happy:

If the computer is connected to an electrical outlet, the

light operates as follows:

Solid green: The battery is charging.
Flashing green: The battery is almost fully charged.

If the computer is running on a battery, the light operates as follows:

Off: The battery is adequately charged (or the computer is turned off).
Flashing orange: The battery charge is low.
Solid orange: The battery charge is critically low.
