Jumping Cursor Issue

Hi

Me and my co-workers are having the same problem with the Touch pad on our DELL running Windows 7.

I am tired of hanging my hands and fingers while typing without touching the pad of laptop with my palm but still,

the letters and words are writing anywhere on our paperwork. It always happens in Microsoft office applications, e-mails,

naming and other applications.Even now typing this post with an external mouse plugged in the cursor jumped around the screen.

Any suggestions as otherwise the laptop is working perfectly

Hi Arch06,

Please install the latest touchpad driver using the link below.

http://dell.to/QjjZDA

Punch in the system service tag or express service code, under the input category select the latest touchpad driver and install it.

Restart the computer and check the cursor is functioning correctly, in case the cursor is moving erratic try installing the quickset application using the above link. Under the application category you will find the quickset application.

Check for mechanical problems. Press down on the palm rest on first the left side of the touch pad and then the right. See if the cursor starts moving on its own. (Press it lightly)

After updating the drivers and quickset application and still problem persists, do reply with the system model number.

Hello.  I am having the same issue and after trying both of these steps, my cursor is still jumping around. I have also pressed down as suggested and the cursor does not move around then.  I have an XPS L702x and am currently running Win8 but this was also happening when running Win 7.

Regards,

Jody
