jumping pointer
I just received my i5000. straight out of box, the pointer is jumping all over. I have a 7500 and never had this problem. please advise. (ex:I move left to click a button, and the pointer jumps to the right about 6")

This may be a long shot, but make sure the fingers of your OTHER hand are not inadvertently resting on the touch pad. The exact symptoms you describe will occur if this is happening.

I just read a reply on here about this problem and I am having it too. The solution was to get rid of the shiny Dell mouse pad with the white sphere on it. I have thrown it away and been "pointer jump free" ever since!!
Just my two cents worth!!
