Keyboard Malfunction

I have an XPS M140 laptop and there are severals keys on the keyboard that throw out the wrong functions.

The letters z, x, c, v, n, m, and enter all produce different functions. The z key will produce zccc when I hit it once. All the keys produce a different result after hitting the key once. The enter key will produce "/// (next line) /// (next line)." I bought a new keyboard and replaced it but the same exact problem occurs. I also tried changing the language for the keyboard but that didn't change anything either.

What other solutions or efforts can I try?

Thanks!

Run a diagnostic on the keyboard (F12 at the dell logo screen before windows boots up).  If the keyboard is defective, replace it with a new one (about $25 - $30, and user-replaceable).
