Laptop Scroll Function Stops Working

This has become quite the pain.  The scroll just decides to stop working when booting my computer from being off.  But not all the time, just sometimes.  Or when I reboot it stops.  But not always, just a few times per week.  Then I have to go through the long process of uninstalling the drivers, rebooting, installing, rebooting and then it works for a couple days.  There has got to be a fix or something, no?

I appreciate all responses and help in advance, thank you.

Hi Mbrandau,

Welcome to the Community. Update the touchpad drivers using the link below. If this does not work, you can try and restore your computer back to factory settings, make sure to back up your data before doing that. After a factory reset if it does not work, contact Dell technical support to have your palmrest replaced.
