Latitude 840C Mouse Problems

So, recently my mouse has been going haywire.  When I installed my new Logitech MX700 USB mouse everything was working ok.  Then I noticed that the cursor would slowly start moving on its own.  It would move to the top or the bottom of the screen and would remain there with me unable to move it.  I've reinstalled touch pad and j stick drivers and the problem still occurs.  I've searched the Knowledge database and have asked many people.  But have been unable to find the solution.

Does the problem occur without the USB mouse connected? This problem is quite commonly caused by a fault with the touchpad, requiring the palmrest to be replaced. You could try flashing the bios to the latest version. Other than that, its most likely going to need a replacement pr.
