Remove the battery and make sure the contacts are clean on it and the system board.  Then reinstall it - if it's then not found, replace it with a new one.

My battery did the same thing. Yesterday, I replaced it and  it charged completely.  This morning (after the computer was off) it showed a 99% charge and will not charge back to 100%.  This is the same problem I had initially before battery replacement; it would not completely charge, and then suddenly, overnight while off, lost all power and connection to the computer.  Does anyone have any idea what causes this?

Test the battery in a similar system. If it works there, get ready for motherboard gymnastics.
