latitude D620 shutdown delay problems, FIX???

I have a refurbished D620 for a couple weeks now.  recently, it started to have shutdown issues.  about 75% of the time, after i select "shutdown", it would just go to the blue background screen and it would take 10-15 minutes to shutdown.  usually when it operates normally it goes to the blue screen but the "shutting down" window comes up and it turns off in 30 seconds.

i tried uninstalling everything that ive installed since the problem started occuring.  it looks like the delayed shutdown is less frequent now, about 50% now, and it might be related to being plugged in or running off batteries, but im not sure.

is anyone having the same problem?
how do i fix it?

It should not effect the shutdown if you are runnning battery power or AC.

You could try and do a system restore to a previous date and time before this problem started.

There may be a service running that is hanging on shutdown. I used to get a lot of errors in my event logs regarding my shutdown and the registry being in use. A lot of times shutdown would be taking awhile. I installed this program from Microsoft and those error messages went away and my shutdowns were quicker. You can try it yourself and see if it helps...
